When designing your website we take into account your requirements for colours and layout. At the same time, we work with you to ensure that those requirements will work effectively and that the website we design and develop for you will produce results.
Many of our clients simply ‘let us get on with it’ and rely on our years of experience and expertise to decide for them and design and build their website based on our understanding of who they are and what they do.
Responsive Design & Mobile Friendly
By ‘Responsive Design & Mobile Friendly’ we mean Responsive. There are now more than 232 screens sizes on different devices. Instead of creating 232 different layouts for your website, we create one that detects the best layout to display. Since this layout is ‘responding’ to the screen size it is called ‘responsive design’.
If your website design is not responsive then many users will not be able to view and use your website. Over 53% of users in the UK now use a mobile device to access the internet. Without a responsive website you could be losing more than half of your potential customers and sales.
A number of website owners have a ‘mobile’ version but a mobile version will only work on a few of them whereas a responsive website will work on all of them.
Google recommends webmasters follow the industry best practice of using responsive web design.
All of the pages on your website can be updated using a content management system which you will have access to 24 hours a day. This allows you to instantly make changes and update the content on your website anytime you want.
There is no point in having a fantastic website if no one can find it. All of the websites we build are designed to be search engine friendly with clean, tidy and structured navigation and layout.
Search engines not only need to see content in order to list pages in their huge indices, they also need to see links in order to find the content. We therefore make sure that every website has a search engine friendly link structure – one that lets the search engines browse the pathways of a website. This is vital in order for the search engines to find and index all of the pages on a website.
High Quality photographs can make a massive difference to a website. When buying images from professional stock image libraries prices start at around £7 per image. As part of the design of your site we include a number high quality stock photographs.
You can of course provide your own images in addition to, or instead of, the stock photographs.
As part of the home page design we include an animated banner slide show on the home page. We create a banner area and add up to three photographs (Depending on the package ordered) which fade in/out on the screen. If required we also add relevant text onto each slide.
When a visitor to your website completes the form, the information they have entered is immediately emailed to you. The information can be sent to one or more email accounts and all form entries are stored within the website administration area. This allows you to keep a copy of all the information online and if you ever accidentally delete your email copy, you have peace of mind knowing that there is always a backup copy available.
If you need to display images of work you have done for existing customers or clients we include an image gallery for you. We initially add up to 24 of your own images. All you need to do is send us the images and we do the rest. We re-size and crop the images as required and upload them to your website. We then install a gallery to display the images onto one of the pages on your website.
All of the images we upload are optimised for the search engines and labelled with the description you provide. The gallery automatically creates a smaller version of each image, which when clicked by the visitors to your site, automatically expands to display the full size version. You can update, add and remove images when the website is live using the content management system to ensure your website image gallery is always up to date.
All logos we design take into account that they will be used on a responsive website and need to be viewed on a range of devices including laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
